Sakuwit Lodge #2 was formed following the merger of the George Washington Council and Thomas A. Edison Council. In 1998, prior to the merger, the two councils were organized as shown below. The naming of District and Chapter was rather easily remembered. The lodge for each district used the same name as the district. For example Mercer Area Lodge was part of Mercer Area District (Mercer Area District/Chapter).

After the merger, the districts from George Washington Council remained unchanged, while the districts from Thomas A. Edison Council were re-arranged into three districts. Sakuwit Lodge created three new chapters, with names chosen to honor former Scout camps in the CNJC area. The 1999 Lodge flap features three clouds to represent the three new chapters.

In 2006, there was a national move for each district to have its individual chapter. Sakuwit Lodge responded by adding three new chapters.

On June 18, 2008, CNJC reduced the number of districts by one, from six districts to five districts, for improved efficiency. Hunterdon Arrowhead District and Jenny Jump District merged to form the Pahaquarra District, serving all the units in Hunterdon and Warren Counties. Sakuwit Lodge, adhering to one district, one chapter, eliminated one chapter. The 2008 Sakuwit Lodge flap shows five clouds, one for each chapter.

In year 2010, SEMEOS District and Raritan Bay District merged to form the Mattameechen District, serving all the units in Middlesex County. The 2010 Sakuwit Lodge flap shows four clouds, one for each chapter.
