On-line Training

My Scouting Log-in

  • If you experience any problems while taking the on-line courses from the National site, please call (972) 580-2267.
  • Scouting volunteers: have your council number (CNJC - 352) and member ID handy (from your BSA registration card) when creating your account. This will ensure you receive proper credit for courses completed successfully.

Youth Training

Training Updates

Youth Protection: This training increases awareness in youth protection issues, reviews all of the BSA youth protection policies and is required for all of the Leader training awards. Youth Protection Training is required for all registered leaders participating in any nationally conducted event or activity and is recommended for anyone working directly with the youth. Youth Protection training is available online or through your district. Time to complete varies.

If you are already registered as a BSA member, you will need your Person ID Number, which appears on either your BSA membership card or your printed unit roster.

If you are not a current BSA member, you may still take the online training. Just leave the ID number space blank when you register, and print out the confirmation page at the end of your training and submit it to the council office.

Youth safety is the No. 1 concern of the BSA.

Effective June 1, 2010:

  • Youth Protection Training is required for all registered volunteers.
  • New leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training before they submit their application for registration. The certificate of completion for this training must be submitted at the time application is made and before volunteer service with youth begins.
  • Youth Protection Training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer's Youth Protection Training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered. If you are in doubt, take the training again on-line at www.myscouting.org. Please submit a copy of your youth protection training card to the Council office to ensure that your record gets updated.

For questions on your youth protection status, please contact the council registrar, Dottie Rosenbaum at Dottie.Rosenbaum@Scouting.org.
